Objectives :

• To acquire knowledge of herbivore herd management;
• To expand your knowledge base of forage, feed and nutrition, grazing, genetics;
• To be able to perform a field diagnostic of a herd/ of herbivores.

• Managing a herd of Dairy Cattle;
• Managing a Suckling herd;
• Managing a flock of Sheep;
• Managing a herd of Goats;
• Assessment of Forage types;
• Bovine/Cattle Genetics;
• Grazing Land Management;
• Tool to Aid in Utilization of Grazing Land;
• Dairy Cattle Feeding on Grazing Land and
• Field Observations of Livestock Farming Practices.

Prerequisites :

Zootechnology (IL2)

Teaching methods :

• Classes, Project Work (TP), Seminars (TD), Accompanied Work (TA), Study Time (ED);
• Visits to businesses related to herbivore livestock farming;
• Visit to research centers;
• Debates with actors of technical recommendations for livestock farmers;
• Bibliographical analysis on a scientific subject
• Work on oral and written communication on a technical subject in English.
