Details

Objectives :

- To introduce the subject of soil in its various components and functions,
- To understand how it functions, the factors , its deterioration, problems of conservation and the possibilities of improvement,
- To know how to judge different soil conditions and its potential using various soil evaluation tools,
- To be able to make recommendations on soil use and management.

Contents :

-Refresher on soil, from the perspective of different approaches.
- Field Simulations : Conduct a diagnostic in the field with a comprehensive approach to soil (or) an understanding of soil on the regional scale
- The "Herody Soil Model”
- Examples of the Agronomy / Agroecology debate, through the analysis of agricultural practices: Liming and tilling
- Final Debriefing : Soil and agroecology

Prerequisites :

Teaching methods :

- Classes and Seminars (TD) introducing methods, tools and skills/knowledge
- Case studies and group work on an actual case in the field which makes it possible to gain skills
