Objectives :

To know the best way to manage the quantity of seeds to be produced, taking the crop’s specific characteristics into account.
To know the different drivers for controlling seed quality produced in the field and in manufacturing.
To know how to manage logistics to address variations in production, the seasonal nature of production and distribution.
To identify innovations in seed production and in particular in the seed producing crop.

Contents :

Physiology of flowering – Pollination – Become proficient in using crop quality indicators and tools
Seed multiplication planning, contracts with seed multiplier farmers
Physiology of seeds – Evaluating quality – Effect of quality standards on production
Effect on triage, on conservation and stock inventory management.
Be familiar with the tools used to manage production variations – Production flow management – Supply and distribution planning – Off-season production management.
Agro-ecological drivers for the seed producing crop.

Prerequisites :

Basic concepts of agronomy
PSA1 is a plus
