Objectives :

To become proficient in using methods and tools dedicated to running and managing a project
To become proficient using the basic features of a project management software tool.
To be able to handle situations that arise with the business internship project by using effective management of cost and resource lead times.

Contents :

Learn different Methods of:
-Project Planning
-Project Tracking / Follow-up
-Risk Management

Become proficient using the following tools:
-Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) of project tasks
-Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) Chart (Network diagram): Calculate margins and identify critical path starting with a textbook example
-Strategic GANTT planning chart for baseline and tracking
-Risk assessment matrix

Creation of a project manager interview file

Introduction to MS Project from a specific case study
Acquisition of planning functions and tracking of resources, budget and shifting lead times

Prerequisites :

Become familiar with a professional work-place environment
Proficiency with office software

Teaching methods :

Combined Prerequisites:
-Conceptual input related to project maintenance and management (Lectures)
-Illustration using field examples related to the field of activity being targeted
-Manual planning of a simple example of a project
-Active field research: Issue a written case study dossier summarizing the status of a project described and analyzed based on the interview of a project manager.
-The seminars (TD) give the students an introduction to the MS Project software by working on an actual case
